Please help!

I have completed the troubleshoot but still getting the same error message. (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us)

I have even attempted to open an older version of the file from One Drive but it also gets the same error message.

Also uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft = still getting the same error message.

Good news is i have located and can use the file online. But cant download the file and use it on the desktop app. How can i get the app fixxed?

    Hi, Tom Cunningham1

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand that your OneNote application on Windows has a “File may be corrupted” message.

You are experiencing a recent hot issue. Recently, the community forums have received feedback from users in different regions that OneNote is having file synchronization issues, or missing files.

In both threads, Microsoft's OneNote team manager noted that this is a newly discovered issue that is currently being actively fixed:

OneNote desktop app cannot sync with OneDrive - Microsoft Community

OneNote sync failure error code:0xE00009C8 bb0ur - Microsoft Community

Thank you for your understanding. For the time being, I would recommend that you use the web version of OneNote as a temporary alternative, as mentioned by the OneNote product manager.

Since Microsoft Community is only a technical discussion community, it cannot participate in development-related content. This requires the development team to further improve the product's functionality. Thank you for your feedback.

    Hi, Tom Cunningham1

    Thank you for your reply.

I'm keeping an eye on other threads related to this issue. Just recently Microsoft staff updated the latest status to say that you can use OneNote normally as long as you re-synchronize.

OneNote desktop app cannot sync with OneDrive - Microsoft Community

You can try it and let me know if the problem persists.

    Looking forward to your reply.
