Anyone experiencing an issue with users adding new terms to an open term set from within a document library

When a user open document properties and selects the NEW TERM option from an open termset the feature is not working as expected. Expected is select new term option, create term, enter, select apply and term is set against the doc. The issue is that after creating the term and entering the term disappears and is not visible so cannot be applied. closing the pop up window and reopening the term is now there and can be applied! Has always worked as expected this is a new error across multiple tenants. Anyone got a fix for this or any thoughts
