Hello,

I'd like to disable the device. But it said "Device is managed by Intune" and there is no button for disabling the device.

Could you please help me to disable this device?

    Hi doru50,

    Thanks for posting back.

I'm wondering if you have tried the methods mentioned in my first reply. They should be able to remove the local license files and deactivate Office on your device. After that, your friend can log into his account and check the results.

According to the steps in your reply, I suggest you try the following steps to deactivate Office.

    1. Open File Explorer, copy/paste the following path directly, go to the path (press Enter) and delete all files and folders. If you still cannot access one of the following paths, then try the next path.

    %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy

    %localappdata%/Microsoft/OneAuth

    %localappdata%/Microsoft/IdentityCache

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\Licenses

    1. Run Command Prompt (run as administrator)

    a. Run cd /d %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16in Command Prompt.

    b. Run cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

You should get the last 5 characters of installed product key as shown in the screenshot below

    c. Run cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:xxxxx

xxxxx is the last 5 characters you get

    d. Let your friend run one Office application and log in to his account to activate Office. Make sure that his account is associated with the relevant subscription.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

I have successfully disconnected my account from this device.

I went to the device's settings, then to Accounts > Access work or school.

    However, another issue remains.

When I logged in with a new account, PowerPoint displayed the message: 'Another account from your organization is already signed in on this device.'

I was advised that removing all folders in the following locations might resolve the issue:

    • %localappdata%/Microsoft/OneAuth
    • %localappdata%/Microsoft/IdentityCache

However, I cannot find any folders named OneAuth or IdentityCache under the Microsoft directory on my device.

Here's the situation in more detail:

I initially logged in with my account on this device and then removed my account from it. Now I want to give the device to my friend.

Even though I successfully disconnected my account from the device, my friend cannot log into PowerPoint with his account. Additionally, there are no 'cache' folders like OneAuth or IdentityCache in the localappdata/Microsoft directory.

    Thanks.

    Hi doru50,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

Per your description, I assume that you were trying to deactivate Office via Office Portal (www.office.com) on this device.

    Deactivate an installation of Office

If my understanding conflicts with the situation, please point it out and let us know.

If my understanding is correct, this means it is set up by the tenant administrator or IT team and you need to contact your IT team. Also, if you want to deactivate Office desktop apps on this device, I suggest you use the following ways to deactivate Office.

    1. Use Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant to deactivate Office
    2. Use scripts to automate the cleanup process

Download the OLicenseCleanup.zip and run the OlicenseCleanup.vbs script

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

You have posted in the Education category. If you are running a version of Office which has been provided by an educational institution, you will have to contact your IT support.
