when I access a shared OneDrive folder using Firefox browser, I am able to see current updates to the files. But when I try to use MS Edge browser, the files show they haven't been updated since June, 2024. Why would that happen? How can I get MS Edge to see the current updates?

I'm also trying to create a folder in File Explorer to this shared OneDrive. It can't be an internet link because the tool I'm using (Quickbooks) won't recognize an internet link. When I ask to create a shortcut when I'm on MS Edge, it creates the correct type of folder in File Explorer. When I try to do the same on Firefox, it creates an internet link.

    Dear m joyce1.

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

I understand that the update is not showing up when you use Edge to access a shared folder on OneDrive. I understand how you feel and will do my best to answer you.

In order to better solve the problem, I need to confirm some details with you in order to give you the proper direction to solve the problem.

    1. Are you logging in to OneDrive with a personal account or a corporate account? To exclude the influence of network limitation, is the network you connect to your home network or company LAN?
    2. Have you tried pressing ctrl+shfit+N to try to access OneDrive's shared folders using MS Edge's privacy mode?

And you can try the following steps to clear the cache of Edge browser.

    1. First open Edge browser. Click on the three-dot menu icon (...) in the upper right corner. Select Settings.
    2. In the left menu, select “Privacy, Search & Services”. Scroll down to the “Clear browsing data” section and click “Select what to clear”. In the pop-up dialog box, select “Time range” (e.g. “All time”). Check the “Cached images and files” box. Click the “Clear Now” button.

Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.

To confirm if the problem is due to a corrupt configuration of the old login environment, you can try to create a new local administrator account. After logging in to the administrator account, only open the Edge browser to log in to OneDrive.

Click on the Windows icon, type cmd, select Run as administrator, type the following command in the command prompt and press enter to create a new account.

    net user aaa /add

Where aaa is the account name, you can set it yourself.

After that, type the following command and press enter to add administrator privileges to the account

    net localgroup administrators aaa /add

Where aaa is the account name, make sure it is the same as the above username.

We look forward to your further reply; with your help and more detailed information we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your support and understanding.

    Best Regards,
