Hi,

I am trying to create our Company intranet on Sharepoint. Our IT department have set up a template for me and I am trying now to populate the content.

I am able to open and create different content and save this, it tells me I can't republish as someone else is in the editor. When I then go back into the editor the old page design opens up and any previous changes I made have disappeared. If I exit the page without saving, I am still able to see the changes that I made however from an editor perspective, everything has reverted to a much earlier version. If I click save in the editor section again, this overrides my changes to what was showing in the editor view.

I have tried restoring previous version but still face the same issue as soon as I attempt to make a change, save it, and come out. As soon as I need to go back into the editor, i'm taken back to a much previous version.

If I try clicking save and then re-publish the page, I get the error message that someone is editing the page.

I am a owner of the site.

I have tried resetting cashe history.

Tried in both Edge and Chrome.

    Dear KBUJ,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the SharePoint Editor. I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial response may not resolve the problem immediately. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, for further troubleshooting, could you please provide the information below:

    1. Could you please let me know if you tried using the browser in InPrivate/Incognito window mode?
    2. Could you please let me know if you tried manually checking out and checking in the page? You can go to Site Pages, select the page, and use the Check Out option. After making your changes, you can Check In and publish.
    3. Could you please let me know if content approval is enabled on your site? You can check this by going to Library Settings > Versioning Settings and seeing if Require content approval for submitted items is enabled. If it is, try disabling it temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator
