Adding items to a Playlist

Hi all - confused by something, we added a Playlist to our site, and for some reason we can't access files from our computers to upload.  Attached are 2 images, one is what I'd expect to see, but the other image is what we're actually getting.  I'm a Site Collection Admin so I have access to everything on the site and still can't access folders/files from my machine....I'm sure there's a setting somewhere to allow this....anyone know a resolution?  Thanks!

    Hi Steve,

    My steps are just for troubleshooting since you cannot see the available options under Pick Files, which is not an expected behavior, so I ask you to try the workaround to upload a video and see if it can be added successfully into the playlist, which in this way will help to narrow down the issue range to the options loading cache or a playlist broken.

    Mia thanks for the reply! So what you're saying is this is actually how Playlists work and is expected behavior.....as in, the steps needing to be taken are uploading to a document library first and then after that, we can click the add to playlist option.....correct?

    Hi Steve,

    I went through your post carefully and understand your demand to make the My files, Recent, Shared, Favorite options available to Add new item in a Playlist in SharePoint. But from my tests, it seems like I failed to reproduce the same behavior. Screenshot attached on left.

    In this situation, to get the local video added in the playlist, please try to first upload it from local to Document folder and then right-click the "Add to playlist" option and see if it can work. Screenshot attached on right.

    If the issue persists, please share me the required information for further troubleshooting:

    1. If the same issue will happen when you create new playlist in the same site and other new sites.
    2. If other site members will see the same behavior with missing options.
    3. If you can access OneDrive Online and upload local videos to there.
