SharePoint access help

I have made a SharePoint site public for all employees within the company to view. It therefore means that if anyone has the link to the site, they can view all documents and resources. However, I want to restrict access to certain folders so that only a few persons can view this folder. It follows that all employees can view other sub-pages and resources but not all employees should be able to see a single folder on the site. How can I restrict access and create this firewall? Thanks.

    Dear Unomah,

Good day and thank you for posting this in the forum.

Per your request, you want to restrict access to certain folders so that only a few persons can view this folder.

To achieve this request, you can set permissions on a folder individually by following these steps:

    1. Select the folder and right click->manage access.

    User's image

    1. Advanced Settings.

    User's image

    1. Stop inheriting Permissions.

    1. You can grant Permissions to users or groups.

Or selecting a group and change their permissions. (If you remove a user's permissions, that user is prohibited from accessing the folder.)

Please try to do the above steps and check if the process is giving you a desired result.

Please note that my first response may not resolve your current situation immediately. But, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a specific guidance for your current query.

Appreciate your cooperation and valuable time.
