I have been trying to install 365 on another device. I can install it with no issues, but it shows everything there is on my own computer.

i.e. if I open Word on the other device there are all the things I have done on Word on my own computer. Letters I have typed and saved etc., Obviously I do not want this.

How do I install it on another device as a stand alone and not linked to my computer.

Hi Lesley, No, that is not how it works. You can install Office on all of your devices. See: How sign in works in Microsoft 365 - Microsoft Support You will be able to see and work on your files on all of the Devices.

You share your Microsoft 365 Family with up to 5 other people. See: Share your Microsoft 365 Family subscription - Microsoft Support

They can also install Office on all of there devices.

But none of the other member or you can see or work on other peoples files. Please come back for any clarification. It will make sense when you get the idea.

PS: other members use their own Microsoft Account to install Office when you send them a share. So, nobody has access to other peoples Office.

Hi Lesley, Not sure but sounds like your documents are on OneDrive so they will be the same.

    Hi,

If I log into my account and download it on the other computer, everything from my computer is visible on theirs..

I have sent an invite to their email and follow the instructions. If I try to create an account with their email address I get a screen with a message that says: 'There is a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later'

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have tried numerous times now, I will try again tomorrow.

    Thanks

So even though I can download it for other family members to use on their computers, all the 'stuff' on my computer will be visible to them?

    Seems a bit wrong somehow.

    Thanks anyway
