Onedrive Backup.

I am using Windows Back Up to back up apps, settings etc to Onedrive. The app says my stuff is backed up, but I can't find it in Onedrive. My storage usage shown in the Back Up app and in Onedrive online is not sufficient fo cover the size of my apps and is fully accounted for by the files I can see (Docs, Videos Etc.). My question is where are my apps, settings etc

"You will see pins for your apps restored where you left themon the taskbar, Start Menu, and All Apps list*. Apps that are available in the* Microsoft Store can be restored by clicking on the app pin to get started. For apps that aren’t available in the Store, you’ll be directed to the web to download the installer."

I don't know the origin of this quote. It's not contained in the referenced article.

I have been line by line through that article and can find nothing that I have not done correctly.

I do have a paid Microsoft 365 subscription.

Click this link and scroll down until you see the text that I highlighted:

I've never done it this way, myself. I'll try to get back to you with some information.

Did you sign into your Microsoft account when you set up your new PC?

    See this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/back-up-your-windows-pc-87a81f8a-78fa-456e-b521-ac0560e32338

The apps that will be pinned are those you have previously downloaded from the Microsoft Store.

If you haven't purchased a Microsoft 365 plan you may be out of luck getting this to work.

You cannot backup apps.and you cannot backup the OneDrive folder without specialist software

I believe the "Windows Back Up" App is specialist software.
