Excel crashes when editing a formula

For the last two months I have a problem with Excel 365 in a local installation. When editing a slightly more complex formula, the application stops and crashes.

Example formula: =IF(IF(F79-$G$2>F78;F79-F78;0)>$G$2;IF(F79-$G$2>F78;F79-F78;0)-$G$2;IF( F79-$G$2>F78;F79-F78;0)).

Formula is entered correctly, the application returns the correct result. When I try to correct the addressing of some conditions, the application "freezes" and restarts after a while. After restoration, the formula is in its original form, without modification. The recovery log contains "No errors were found in the file. No repairs needed."

The application is Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2408 Build 16.0.17928.20114) 64 bit. PC has W11, Intel Core I5 processor, 16GB RAM.

How on earth am I supposed to work with this? Does anyone have a similar experience?

Thanks a lot

Could you share a test file to reproduce your issue?

For sharing file, you may upload it to OneDrive or any other cloud drive and then post the link here.

*Please make sure you have removed any sensitive or private information in the sample file before uploading.

Have you tried copying that formula to notepad and edit it then copy it to back to original one?
