Cannot open Word documents

Question

Two days ago, Word was working perfectly.

That day, I read some Word documents stored on some memory cards. When I went to use Word the next day, I attempted to open a Word document, and I received "This document is either deleted or not currently accessible. (1) I deleted no documents. (2) I went to Word "Help" site where they asked me to use the "Check accessibility" tool. It would not open. HELP, please.

Opening documents from any kind of removable media risks document corruption. When you are working on a document, many temporary files are created. Not only do these threaten to fill the removable card or stick (though that risk is lower now that the capacity of USB sticks and the like is so much greater), but there is also a risk that they may not be deleted properly when you close the file and remove the drive (though it helps to use the "Safely remove" feature).

Although it may be irrelevant to this issue, since you are using a Mac, I will move your question to the Mac forum.

No, the documents I am referring to are ones that are on my laptop’s (MacBook Air) hard drive. Does thay help?

btw, why is it not a good idea to open documents from a/the memory card. (In case it isn’t obvious, my knowledge of computers is next to zero.)

Presumably the documents you were trying to open were not the ones you had stored on a memory card? If you opened them directly from the card (not a good idea), then the link to them could well be broken. If you saved them to your hard drive, then you need to navigate to that location to open them.
