I understand that you lost your files after the MS update. We are very sorry for the trouble this issue has caused you.
Unfortunately, without knowing the details, I may not be able to tell you why your files are lost. If you want, you can answer the following questions and I will do my best to help you.
Did you lose a lot of files or a single file? Where are they stored? What type?
Please try to find them in File Explorer. If you used OneDrive before and uploaded files to OneDrive. You can go to the OneDrive web version to see if your lost files are there. If you don't remember whether you used OneDrive, it is recommended to go to OneDrive to check.
