In the past I've been able to use Custom View from this screen, but now the Custom View is grayed out.

Thanks for your help

    Hi SweetTasha,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

From the screenshot you shared, it seems that there might be an issue with the current workbook file. Please check if your worksheet contains any special formats such as Tables or PivotTables.

Alternatively, you can create a new Excel workbook to see if the issue persists, which can help determine if the problem is with the Excel application.

Could you please share a full screenshot of your Excel page with us? This will help me assist you in analyzing the issue, and I look forward to your reply!

    Best Regards,

Thanks for your reply Thomas C.

This is the same spreadsheet that has an issue with re-calculating, which I reported here. I will return here and add the title of that question.*** After I forced the spreadsheet to re-calculate, the Custom View also appeared NOT grayed out.

*** That question is "How to force a spreadsheet to recalculate even when no changes have been made.

The spreadsheet can be downloaded from _______

    Hi,

From your last reply, it seems that you intended to share more information with me, but I haven't seen any updates. Could you please let me know how things are progressing? Are you still able to share more details with me?

While I was trying to figure out by trial-and-error how force re-calculation, I discovered almost by accident that if I change the value in any numeric cell, it would then re-calculate. I can't explain it.

It looks like your issue has been resolved.

    Let me explain your concern:

This is a normal phenomenon. In fact, you don't even need to change the value of the numeric cell. You just need to enter the cell, and then click the "checkmark" button in the formula bar, and Excel will force the worksheet to recalculate.

This works similarly to the "Calculate Now" function under the Formulas tab, and it is a result of Excel's design.

These methods can force a refresh of the worksheet data without changing anything in the worksheet.

    Hope my explanation makes sense.
    Thomas
