Good day! Thank you for posting in our community. If your OneNote sync seems to never end, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue. Here’s a general guide to help you:
- Check Internet Connection
- Ensure your internet connection is stable. Sync issues can occur with intermittent or slow connections.
- Try changing a network and see if it can be synced.
- Perform backup and Close all your Notebooks.
You can back up notebooks by clicking File > Options > Save & Backup > choose the backup location and click Backup all notebooks now.
- Close all Notebooks and close the OneNote Client.
- Clear OneNote cache from:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneNote\16.0\cache - Uninstall Microsoft Office Apps from Control Panel > Uninstall a program
- Re-install it from Microsoft portal.
- After App is reinstalled, please first open the notebook from Online, and click editing > open in desktop app to open it. Then please check if issue can be resolved.
