Powerpoint converting files to read-only

Hello,

I recently got a brand new MacBook Air and Powerpoint keeps converting my file to read only with these long alphanumeric file names while I'm working on it. If I save it as a new file, then all of the images in my presentation are missing and have the little red X. Here are some of the error messages I get.![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/f0c7507d-cb63-4451-903e-2ac0c23cbeaf?platform=QnA"https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/4a86477e-b35b-4fea-9f45-bec73f578693?platform=QnA" title="filestore.community.support.microsoft.com" rel="ugc nofollow">

This is not something that happened on my previous Mac so I'm not sure if the new computer has something to do with it?

I'm not sure what triggers it but it happens seemingly randomly and quite often.

This problem often occurs when saving files to unsupported cloud services or devices.

Where is the file located? Your Mac? OneDrive? SharePoint? Somewhere else?

It can also occur when using non-text or numeral characters in a file name.

Thank you for your response. So far on this new computer I've been using it while recording lectures with the program Panopto. So I don't save anything, but the Panopto program screen records the powerpoint presentation while I talk. I don't save it or anything while I'm doing this, I just put it in presentation mode and then notice later when I'm no longer recording and just editing the powerpoint presentation that somewhere along the way it had converted the file to this new name and read-only format.

    Hi

Panopto is software which I am unfamiliar with. You should visit their site for support: https://www.panopto.com/

From what I can see of their site, the product makes video files, not PowerPoint files.
