I cannot add multiple rows to a table

I am using Excel Standard 2019. Suddenly, I cannot add multiple rows in a table, but I can add one row at a time anywhere in the table. I tried clearing the last row of the sheet, but that did not work. Again, I can add one row at a time.

Select all rows below the table and delete the rows.

Select all columns on the right of the table and delete the columns.

Save, close and reopen the file.

    Test the behavior.

    What happens?

    Andreas.

I can copy&paste multiple values below a table and it expands.

I can also select multiple cells below a table, write something and press CTRL+ENTER and it expands.

How did you try to add multiple rows to a table?

    Andreas.

I am still baffled. I could add multiple rows below the table, but only a handful.

I tried to add rows within the table and the Insert Row function was greyed out. I tried clearing several rows at the end, but this did not make any difference.

I have used this spreadsheet/workbook for about 10 years, and this is the first time this has happened. It had less than 6000 rows and about 150 columns. I just deleted quite a few columns and was able to add some rows again. But only a few at a time.

    This is extremely frustrating.

    Thank you. That did it.
