    Dear Jørgen Petersen1,

Thank you for your reply. We saw that you said that after reinstalling OneDrive, the account still showed two personal OneDrive folders with the same contents after logging in again.

    Need to confirm with you:

Have you tried the first step we recommended to help you confirm the icon display by changing your registry information?

If your operation is still invalid, we are worried that this may be due to the system's deviation in detecting the OneDrive program, resulting in repeated icon display.

In order to check the system's detection information, you can try:

    1. Clean boot the system:

To check if there are other programs in your system that conflict with the OneDrive program.

You can try to clean boot the system by following the detailed steps in the following link and confirm whether the problem still occurs:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.

    1. Create a new local system account:

You can try to create a new local administrator account for the system, use the new administrator account to log in to the system and open the OneDrive program.

You can refer to the detailed steps in the following link to create a new local account:

Manage user accounts in Windows - Microsoft Support

You can try to see if it can help you. You can reply to us and we will help you further.

    Best Regards,

    Dear Jørgen Petersen1,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that there are two OneDrives in your Explorer.

According to your description, you are viewing two OneDrive folder information in Explorer. We need to confirm with you:

Is the information displayed in your Explorer consistent with the screenshot below? When you click on different information, are the displayed OneDrive synced files consistent?

    Image

If the information you see is the same as the picture, we are worried that this is due to an error in the OneDrive registry information detection, which causes the icon to be abnormal. You can try the following operations to help you delete one of them:

    I. Modify the registry information:

Press "Win + R" to open the "Run" dialog box and type "regedit".

Copy the path shown below into the red box in the image:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}

    Image

Then double-click the registry key in the red box on the right, change the value to 0, and click OK.

Restarting the PC or Explorer helps apply the changes.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems; however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, clickHereto view the article.

    II. Completely uninstall OneDrive:

To confirm the detection of OneDrive in the system, if the previous operation you tried does not work, you can try to uninstall and reinstall OneDrive to confirm:

Before uninstalling the program, you can first cancel the link between your account and OneDrive. First open the OneDrive program, then click Settings--Account--Unlink this PC to unlink your account from OneDrive. After canceling, make sure that your local system has the corresponding file information to avoid file loss after uninstallation.

You can click "Programs" in the "Control Panel" to confirm the program and uninstall it.

After uninstalling, you can try to uninstall and install OneDrive in the Microsoft Store or the OneDrive web and log in to the account again to confirm.

You can try the operation. If there is any update, you can reply to us and we will help you check it further.

It is not exactly the problem. The problem is that after reinstalling Onedrive, both Business and Personal. it looks like this in Explorer:

I then have 2 personal folders in Explorer with exactly the same content.
