PowerPoint Screen Recording

I'm trying to record my PowerPoint presentation. I have inserted a YouTube video through the presentation, and I am trying to record the YouTube videos (video and sound). I am trying to use the Screen Record feature, but I keep getting the following error message, "We're sorry, something went wrong that might make PowerPoint unstable. Please save your presentation and restart PowerPoint." Restarting PowerPoint does not resolve the issue.

How do I record the YouTube videos and include them in my presentation? I want to export my recorded presentation as a video.

    Hello, DNA Mavens FS.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

I understand that you are experiencing a problem with recording your screen using PowerPoint. Based on your description above, it is can be deduced that there are many reasons for this problem (protected permissions, third-party add-ons interfering, etc.), and we suggest you try the following basic troubleshooting options to determine where your problem lies:

    1. File >Options>Trust Center>Protected View>Uncheck all three boxes> Restart PowerPoint App

    1. Try opening in "Run as Administrator Mode":  right click ppt and click "Run as Administrator".
    2. Open it in Safe Mode (to exclude interference from third-party add-ons):
    • Right-click the Start button in Windows (in the lower left corner) and click Run (or press the Windows logo key and R on your keyboard at the same time)
    • In the Run box, type powerpnt /safe and click OK.
    1. Repair Office online: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

Feel free to share updates with me on how things are progressing after you've completed the aforementioned steps. Should you have any questions or require clarification, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I‘d like to do my utmost to assist you.
