Every time I try to save a new Word file, I get a message that says it can't save due to a file permission error. Every time I try to open a Word file, I get a message that user does not have access privileges. This is happening for every file, for the past two days. It has never happened before. I am the only person who ever uses this computer.

    Hello @Anne Corcoran

Adding to it, Do Check your log files

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services\SSRS\LogFiles.

    This error occurs when

    1. The document might be previously saved as ‘read-only’ or as a ‘template’.
    2. The directory location you are trying to save might not have suitable permission
    3. A file from a network shared folder might be Changed
    4. Your Antivirus software might conflict
    5. naming issues

So try working out with the above issues and before execute check your administrator permission and ideal network connections.

Anne, what folder are you trying to save these files to? Is it your Documents folder? Or are you trying to save them on a network server somewhere?

Is this your own personal PC or is it a work PC where you can ask someone there for help?

In the explorer, right click the folder and select Properties. Then in the security tab look to see if your account has full control. Like this.
