Link & Keep Source Formatting Option for Pasting is Gone (Windows)

I consistently use the "Link and Keep Source Formatting" paste option to paste ranges from Excel to Word and be able to update the data dynamically from Word. However, that paste option now no longer shows up when I try to paste a range of Excel cells.

Is this option no longer available? How can I get it to show up again?

In Word, you will find that command on the Paste Options button when pasting an Excel range. See the screen shot below.

That option is usually there, but it is no longer showing up. Now when I try to paste an Excel range, these are the only options appearing:

Are you seeing this issue when pasting from a specific Excel file?

Are you able to paste linked data via the Paste Special dialog box in Word?

No, the issue was not occurring with a specific Excel file, and I was not able to paste the linked data via the Paste Special dialog box.

I'm not sure why, but it looks like the Paste as Link option has reappeared in my paste options. However, the "Update Link" option now no longer shows up when I right click on the pasted data:

Is there another way to update the data?

If you click the Links option, Word displays the Links dialog box which lists all OLE objects in the document with a lot of settings. You can update from there (as well as specify other settings).
