How do I turn off the auto-save function?

How do I turn off the auto-save function? This should be easy to access! I've been using MS Word for decades and the habit of saving is second nature. This also means that if I close the document I do NOT want the changes saved unless I specifically choose this option. Word used to ask to save as an option but has stopped doing that after I was forced to switch to MS365. This is a very aggravating feature!

By default, subscription versions synchronize your documents with OneDrive, which also includes automatic saving.

You can disable OneDrive synchronizing, if you want. See the "Unlink OneDrive from your computer" section in the article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0.

The screen shot of the Account tab now looks different than what is shown on the MS help page, but the Unlink this PC link is still there if you look for it.
