SharePoint Online people picker limits

Question

Hi there,

I can see that in SharePoint 2013 the limit to the number of entries in a people picker field field was 200 but I cannot find anything for SharePoint Online. Is this officially documented anywhere? Has the limit increased at all in the past 8 years?

Per my research, there is no evidence or Microsoft documentation indicates that there is a limit for people picker field in the SharePoint Online.

I'm afraid that you need to test it on your own to determine the maximum number if there is a limit.

In my opinion, if you want to add a large number of users, it could be a better idea to add these users to a group and add this group in people picker field. A user can belong to 5,000 groups per site and each group can have up to 5,000 users. You can have up to 10,000 groups per site.
