I can't work on my Word and PowerPoint documents because there's this tab that pops up anytime I open a file: 'we are sorry, but Word(PowerPoint) has run into an error that is preventing it from working perfectly. Word(PowerPoint) will need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair it?'. I click the Repair Now option anytime I see this, but it just closes the document and doesn't resolve it. What can I do?

Try an Online Repair. Instructions for Office running under Windows 10 or 11 can be found in the article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b.

    Hi Cynthia,

    Let's try this

    1. In the windows search bar type "Control Panel" and open it
    2. Under programs, click "Uninstall a program"
    3. Scroll down until you see "Microsoft 365 Apps" and click on it
    4. At the top you will see the button "Change" next to uninstall, click on "Change
    5. Select the Full Repair option
    6. Once the repair is complete, restart your computer
