Comment Box Missing in Planner

I have several Planner boards that I use for different projects, the main project boards that my company uses in the comments section have vanished, but the comment bubble is visible on the tasks if I try and click through to it nothing happens.

I have reviewed the previous support answers including:

  1. Using a different browser
  2. Cleaning the cache
  3. Copying the task into a new board
  4. Tried to reply to the comment via the notification email - The comments are still visible in the notification email

We have all the correct licences and permission. What other solutions are available?

    Dear Sarah Manning-Evans,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, we're sorry to hear that comment box is missing in Planner.

We've noticed that many users have reported a similar situation in this community, given this, we're afraid that issue could be with the background service which need to be checked from the backend. As forum support, we may not have enough permission and resource to directly check the backend environment.

In this situation, we sincerely recommend you contact your Microsoft 365 administrator, follow steps in this article to create a support ticket with Online Support. The support team over there has higher permission than us, they can remotely help check the situation on your side, involve more resource to collect logs and help you do troubleshoot. This would be a more efficient way in handling this case for you.

For reference: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin?

Sorry for the inconvenience again. Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated. Hope you stay safe and healthy.

    Sincerely,

    Rhoda | Microsoft Community Moderator
