We've recently received numerous user reports similar to yours regarding account errors. This might be due to compatibility issues caused by recent Office update patches. Currently, many users have reported that rolling back version of Office. We recommend that you follow the instructions below to rollback version of Office:
- Ensure all running Office applications are closed.
- Press the Windows key, search for "Command Prompt", right-click it and select "Run as administrator".
- In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:
cd %programfiles%\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun - Then, enter the below command to initiate Office update:
OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17531.20120 - After rolling back the version, please open any Office application, click on File, then Account, and under Update Options, disable Office auto-update until Microsoft releases a fix patch.
