    Hi BALAJI SENTHIL,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I can see that you are uploading a very large folder containing a very large number of files. For this type of folder, we prefer that you do a batch upload, where you divide the 40,000 files into smaller folders and upload one folder at a time. This reduces the number of files synchronized at a time, allows you to better monitor and manage the progress of your synchronization, and reduces the risk of errors.

For large folders, be sure to sync using the OneDrive app rather than the OneDrive web, due to the app's more robust sync handling. (Ignore this if you're already doing this).

For very large folders, it will take longer to sync, and if the sync is interrupted or abnormal due to network service access issues during the process, it will take longer to sync.

After making sure you still have enough OneDrive space, refer to the following suggestions for synchronization:

    1. Check the progress of OneNote synchronization to see if any file synchronization is stuck and therefore cannot continue.

If so, check to see if OneDrive is indicating why it is unable to sync, and also consider manually syncing specific documents in the OneDrive web.

    1. If the OneDrive status shows “Processing Changes” for an extended period of time, using Pause and Resume may also help.
    • Right-click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar.
    • Select “Pause Sync” for 2 hours
    • Synchronization resumes automatically when the pause time is over, or you can manually resume synchronization after a period of time.
    1. Unknown/hidden files causing the error.
    • Select the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar/menu bar to show the list of all files open, being synced or have recently synced.
    • OneDrive processing changes screen
    • Temporary or hidden files may also be blocking sync.
    • Read OneDrive status stuck on "Sync pending" for more information.
    1. Run an internet speed test to make sure the problem is not elsewhere.

I hope this is useful and please feel free to ask any questions.

    Best regards,

Ian - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
