Power Automate

I have the following Power Automate licenses:

Power Automate for Office 365

Power Automate Free

Are both licenses free to use?

When I create a flow with the trigger "when an item or file is modified,"

the recurrence frequency defaults to "minutes" with an interval of "1."

Can this be used without any limitations, even with the free version?

And I want to capture changes to a specific column in a list in Microsoft Lists and use that to register an event in Outlook Calendar. What kind of flow should I create for this?

thansk

    Dear Amy Sung1,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community

Yes, Power Automate Free is automatically available to users who have a Microsoft 365 subscription, even if you don’t sign up for it separately. This free version comes with basic functionality, but it does have some limitations, such as fewer flow runs per month and access only to standard connectors.

If you need more advanced features, such as premium connectors or higher flow run limits, you may need to upgrade to a paid version of Power Automate.

    Dear Amy Sung1,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community

First of all, we noticed that you have multiple questions in this community. We can assist you with one question per thread. Regarding your other issue, it appears to be related to Power Automate. Since the community you're currently in is focused on SharePoint, we recommend posting your second question in our Power Automate community for better assistance.

    • Power Automate Free vs. Power Automate for Office 365
    1. Power Automate Free is indeed free to use, but it comes with certain limitations, such as restrictions on the number of flow runs and the types of connectors available. The free version has limited functionality compared to the paid versions.
    2. Power Automate for Office 365 is included with certain Microsoft 365 plans (like E1, E3, and E5). While it is part of your Office 365 plan, it is not "free" in the sense that it is already bundled with your subscription. This plan typically offers more functionality, including access to premium connectors and higher flow run limits.
    • Recurrence Frequency in the Free Version
The recurrence frequency setting, such as “Minutes” with an interval of “1,” may have restrictions depending on the license you are using.
    1. Power Automate Free: The default frequency for flows in the free version is usually set to a minimum of 15 minutes (not 1 minute). Therefore, setting a recurrence interval of 1 minute may not be available or could be subject to limitations in the free version.
    2. Power Automate for Office 365: With an Office 365 plan, you typically have more flexibility, including the ability to set a frequency of 1 minute for certain triggers, such as "When an item or file is modified." This is typically supported with higher limits on flow runs and execution frequency.

To summarize, Power Automate Free has limitations regarding flow frequency and the number of runs allowed, while Power Automate for Office 365 provides more flexibility and fewer restrictions.
