Copy paste function

whenever I invoke Copy, the marquee highlights the cells that I have selected for only a split second and disappears immediately.
I either have to copy and paste quickly before the marquee box disappears. Or I have to copy the cells again and paste at the destination cells. but then it also disappears even though I didn't click another cells nor press the escape key

how to solve on this?

    Please follow these steps:

    Close Excel
    Press and hold the CTRL key
    Open Excel
    Wait for a message to appear and ask for "Safe Mode"
    Release the CTRL key
    Click Yes
    After Excel opens
    Click File\Open and select your file
    Press and hold the SHIFT key
    Click Open
    Wait for your file to open
    Release the SHIFT key
    Test the behavior
