Endnote numbering

I am using Endnotes on a Word document and at first it was fine but now when I add an Endnote the number is added to the previous number. For example instead of going from 2 to 3 on a third line the 3 is added to the original 2 to make 23 on the second line. Can anyone help?

If you send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

No, the last endnote number is repeated. I have only just realised this. It doesn't go to the next endnote number.

That indicates some type of numbering problem, of course. Since Doug has offered to take a look at your document, I recommend that you accept his offer. :-)

Is the endnote number correct in the endnote area (at the end of the document or section)?
