Dear Marshall_868
Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.
We understand that you are experiencing a problem where OneNote crashes easily when pasting content. I understand how you feel, and this problem is indeed troubling.
We need to confirm some details with you so that we can provide you with the appropriate direction to solve the problem.
- In addition to Word, does this problem also occur when copying text from other applications and pasting it into OneNote?
- What is the Mac system version you are using?
According to the log, your OneNote version has been updated to the latest version. If your Mac is also the latest version, then the reason for the version update cannot be ruled out. It may be caused by incompatibility between the new versions. Therefore, we can first try to clear the OneNote cache or roll back the Office version.
Delete OneNote running cache:
- Quit all Office applications and then open Finder.
- Press Command + Shift + G, input “~/Library/Containers”, remove cache folder Microsoft OneNote to desktop.
- Press Command + Shift + G, input “~/Library/Preferences”, remove**[com.microsoft.office.plist]** to desktop.
- Open OneNote for Mac app and check if it works correctly.
Roll back Office version
- Uninstall Office components on Mac.
- Go to this link to download an older version of Office.
- Download the installation package on the interface and install it.
After waiting for the installation to succeed, pause the update of Office and check the operation of Word.
- Open any Word component and click [Help]--[Check for Updates] in the upper menu.
- In the pop-up window, click [Advanced].
- Then uncheck [Automatically keep Microsoft apps up to date].
- If a confirmation window pops up, click [Close]
You can then test OneNote again to see if the crash still occurs.
You can refer to the above information first, I hope it will be helpful to you. We also look forward to your reply and will continue to provide you with assistance. If there is anything unclear, you can reply at any time.
Your understanding and patience will be greatly appreciated.
