onedrive does not connect

On a windows 7 PC, onedrive does not connect

I tried disconect and reconnect Onedrive

It tried making a new account (and paid fo that) and it still does not connect.

After entering login information (password and code on authenticator) it ends waiting indefinately or states "try again in a couple of minutes".

Letting it run over night does not help

I tried to add screenshots, but it did not work.

I previously had an enterprise version on the computer and re. a advise on the microsoft support page I removed the cached credentials for onedrive enterprise.

I would like onedrive to work, what should I do?

Unfortunately, there is not much I can do in this situation. OneDrive is a cloud service, and when you try to establish a connection from your device to the OneDrive servers, it recognizes that your device is running Windows 7, which Microsoft has blocked from connecting. I do not have the ability to bypass Microsoft's restrictions to allow your device to connect to OneDrive.

Regarding the lack of a prompt message for this issue, I don't have the authority to participate in the design and development of OneDrive. I can only attempt to contact the development team and suggest they add such a notification.

Since OneDrive fundamentally refuses to connect with Windows 7 from the server side, my recommendation would be to upgrade to a device that supports Windows 10 or later. Aside from this, I don't have any other suggestions.

    Thanks a lot Thomas !
Not that answer I hoped for, but it explains why I can't get it to work.
It does not explain why OneDrive for Win7 is still available as downloads and that it asks me to try again a couple of mins instead of letting me know it's not supported, install is not possible and refer an alternative. I will archive that as quirks and consider an alternative backup system, do you have a recommendation ?

My pc does not support Win10.

    BR Poul

    Hi Poul Henriksen,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

Unfortunately, since January 2022, OneDrive has not been supported on Windows 7 and 8. This has been clearly stated in Microsoft help articles. Kindly refer to: OneDrive desktop app for earlier versions of Windows - Microsoft Support

Windows 7 is a very old system, and regrettably, due to Microsoft's decision to discontinue support for it, there is nothing we can do to change this situation. I can only suggest that you update to at least Windows 10 to continue using OneDrive.

While I can't assist you further, I hope my response helps you better understand the features and rules of OneDrive.

    Best Regards,
