    Hi! Hope Akpan,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community! I realize that you've encountered a problem with There are some issues with the Excel application and I understand how you feel. Often, problems with the Excel display can be due to corruption in the configuration file of the Excel application itself, or the installation of certain third-party add-ons that cause conflicts to occur. For now I suggest you try the fix provided by our enthusiastic user @Palcouk.If the quick fix doesn't work, please try the online fix, the steps are exactly the same as the quick fix, just select the online fix at the end to repair your Excel application. Or you can also try the following registry reset Office application method to fix your Excel application: Registry reset office (please note that this method will restore your Office application to its initial state, if you have previously installed some add-ons, they will also be reset and you will need to reinstall the add-ons you need afterwards)Press Windows + R and in the run box that opens type: regedit and press enter.Locate the following keys and rename the Office folder (right-click on it and select Rename, e.g. rename Office to Officeold)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office Then reopen the word document to see if it works.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support to view the article. If none of the above methods work, could you please provide me with a detailed screenshot of the error message so that I can further understand your problem? And if you can open the Word application normally, please check the detailed version information of the current Office application through Word and provide me the screenshot ( Please open the Word document > click on File in the upper left corner > click on Account in the lower left corner, and provide me the screenshot of the complete page (if the screenshot contains private information, please mask it and upload it) )Thank you for your understanding and patience.Best RegardsEddy | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

All Excel docs or a specific one?

    Start with the basic repair

Restart the PC, once fully loaded, repair Office,> Apps & Features>Select Office your version>Modify /Repair, once the repair completes re-test (Quick repair)
