authenticator frozen

I just installed microsoft authenticator onto iphone 15 pro. I could not open the app with face id. i turned off face id in settings but i still could not unlock. i deleted the app and reinstalled and was able to open the app however, ALL of the functions were frozen. i tapped on everything and nothing opened.
