"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application."

Any solutions please?

    Dear Haris Nazir,

Good day. Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, The error code 0xc0000005 typically indicates an Access Violation error, which can be caused by a variety of issues such as corrupted files, permission issues, or system conflicts. Here's how you can try to resolve it:

Running a repair on Office can fix corrupted files or settings. For better understanding go through the article.

or you may also Repair Office via steps below: open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Locate Microsoft Office in the list, right click it, choose Change, you may need to provide admin permission, then choose Online Repair.

I also suggest opening the Office application in Safe Mode. This will launch the app with minimal add-ins and customizations, which can help identify if the issue is being caused by any add-ins or settings. If the app works fine in Safe Mode, this indicates that the issue is likely related to an add-in or a customization. To remove an add-in from Office apps follow the article.

I hope these steps will help you to resolve your issue. To help further troubleshoot, could you provide some additional details about the problem? Here are a few things that could help me assist you better:

    • Let me know your Microsoft 365 office product type and please provide a screenshot of Office type. (control panel > programs > programs and features > you can find the office version on details mode).
    • Have there been any recent system updates or changes (such as Windows updates, new software installation, or hardware changes)?

I appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Sophia
