Onedrive shortcut problem

Hello. Are there any updates of the issue from 1 year ago?

It started affecting my other accounts too today..

Folders started to duplicate and made all acounnts FULL. And orginal folders transformed into shortcuts URLs.

    Thanks for posting in the community. 

    Some shared folders related to shared folders in OneDrive have . Internet URL shortcuts instead of actual folders in File Explorer. This results in users not being able to navigate the contents of these folders and instead receiving links to the OneDrive website.

    Affected users:

    Users from all over the world can access the link files (. URL) instead of the actual folders, prevents normal navigation of the folder's contents.

    Specific problem:

    • Users can view shared folders through the OneDrive web interface, but they can only see links to the OneDrive site in File Explorer.
    • Shared folders can't be synced to local devices, disrupting workflow and preventing offline access to files.

    Currently, the only way to resolve this issue is to create a new account and use a new Microsoft account.
