Sharepoint List integrated Microsoft Form - External Sharing allowed?

Hello,

I would like to send a Microsoft Form created inside of a Sharepoint List to external users.

This list was created using the Forms button inside of the List, and is linked directly to the columns in the List.

As this Form was not created in the Microsoft Forms app, I do not have the ability to choose 'Anyone' under the 'Collect responses' tab.

Is there a way to allow external users to submit responses in the List-created form?

I am aware of the workaround with creating a Form in the Microsoft Forms app, and the using a separate list and PowerAutomate to connect them.

I would prefer not to do this if there is an easier option, though.

Cheers!

    Dear Jordan Moyers,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, forms created directly from a SharePoint List (using the "Forms" button) are bound to the permissions of the SharePoint site and inherit its access controls. Since these forms are designed for internal use within the organization, they do not support external sharing.

Except the workaround that you mentioned there are no easy workaround that we found on our test

We added the user as a guest and shared the list with them, but even though they can create items directly in the list, they cannot access the Forms link.

Thank you for your time and patience, we hope you have a great day!

    Kind regards,

    Hello Jordan,

I have got this to work, using the following simple workaround. Can you please try and let me know whether it works?

    1. Do NOT use the following link to share with your guest/visitor

    1. Open the form as follows:

    1. Then Preview

    1. Then Open in new tab. Use this link which has a different format than the first option. This should work.

    Thanks

    Manjula

This does not work sadly. Tested and external user still receives a log in prompt for that tenant.

Thank you very much . this option works , in my case , as long as the external user has access to the sharepoint list
