I work in an industry that requires that I keep notes of meetings, etc. Is there a way that when I make a text entry in Word, that it can be automatically date stamped in a manner that doesn't allow the date or the text to be edited? This would be in case I was audited by regulators, I can prove to them that the meeting events that are recorded are in fact true.

Thanks for the response Jay. I may look at the PDF option to see if I can make that work.

Word does not have the capability of making a non-alterable timestamp (or any other text), and there's nothing I've seen or heard of that can be added to Word to do it. Microsoft developed Word without regard for whether its documents could support auditing or serve as legal evidence. Everything in an editable document is editable in some manner, the only difference being how difficult it is.
