A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
Dear Dave,
Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Community. We are here to assist you
I'm sorry to hear about the frustration you're experiencing with the new MS Forms-Excel sync solution. This issue has indeed been a common concern among users. The new sync solution requires opening the Excel file online to update it with new Forms responses, which has disrupted many automated workflows.
Previously, there are two ways for forms to sync data to excel workbooks (sync responses in real-time or sync responses only when opening the workbook in Excel for Web). However, now there is only one way (sync responses only when opening the workbook in Excel for Web) for forms to sync data to Excel workbooks. **** Microsoft has changed the sync process for all forms.
I can understand the situation. I suggest you to use Power automate flow as a workaround, same workaround is being utilize by other users as well as mentioned by George on July 4^th^ 2024 in the following thread.
This is due to a design change and currently, there isn't an out-of-the-box solution to address this. However, our product developers are always open to user suggestions, so I encourage you to submit your feedback on our Data Sync - Schedule · Community. This way, they can consider your ideas for future improvements.
