I shared files with laptop windows user but it is not shown in his OneDrive. It gives a message to inform "no permission" but I have given all the permissions.

But the other person can share the file with me.

Hello Rajith Nelumdeniya,   Welcome to the Microsoft Community. We understand that you are experiencing permissions issues when sharing files to a Windows user via OneDrive for Mac, while the other user can access them normally, which is a real problem. Thank you for describing the issue in detail.

From your description, there are several common reasons: the sharing permission settings may not be valid due to the inherited permissions at the file level or the link type (e.g. “Specific People” vs. “Accessible to Anyone”), or the other user's account login status may be abnormal (e.g. The permissions may not be refreshed in time due to synchronization delays on the OneDrive server. In addition, in some cases, client-side cache anomalies may also trigger this alert.

Due to the limited information available at this time, your assistance is needed to confirm some details:

    • Did you share the link by generating a shared link or directly inputting the other party's email address? Are the permissions of the shared link set to “Editable” or “View Only”?
    • Did the person try to access it through the web version of OneDrive or the desktop client?
    • If the link is accessed directly from the web version, does it still indicate a permission error?

We also recommend that both parties check whether the OneDrive client is up to date (the version number of the Mac client can be found in the client settings - About).

Due to the possible misunderstanding of the text description, we will continue to pay attention to your feedback. Please be patient and try to re-share and let us know the result, we will try our best to assist you in identifying the root cause of the problem.
