Inserted video won’t save

I am trying to insert a YouTube video in my PowerPoint. I copy the “embed code”, paste it into the insert/video/online movie. Then I save my file. It works fine as long as I don’t close my PowerPoint. If I close it and reopen it, it no longer works and I have to re-insert it again. I don’t have trouble with any other changes “saving”. Any suggestions?

I have since learned I have to enable “external media being blocked”. Not sure if I can enable that permanently or if that has to be done each time PowerPoint is opened.
