Global Admin Access

I own a small business and our IT professional has been hospitalized. He is the only one with the admin credentials or privileges on his account. Is there any way to gain global admin access without involving our admin. It would be incredibly insensitive to contact the family at this time but it is critical that we gain control of our company account.

    Hello Keith Schwahn

Good day and thanks for posting in Microsoft community.

I’m truly sorry to hear about your IT professional’s hospitalization, and I completely understand the delicate nature of this situation. Balancing the need to manage your company's accounts with respect for privacy and sensitivity is incredibly challenging, and it’s clear that you're doing your best to handle things thoughtfully during a difficult time.

However, given that your IT professional is the only one with global admin access to your account, gaining access without their involvement can be a complex matter, especially when it comes to security protocols that are in place to protect your company’s data. In this case, I would recommend contacting Microsoft’s Data Protection or Support Team directly. Microsoft’s security protocols are designed to protect accounts from unauthorized access, and as such, the global admin role is a critical access point to your company’s Microsoft 365 resources.

Because this involves sensitive access to your company's data and applications, Microsoft’s Data Protection Team is specifically equipped to handle these types of urgent requests. They are trained to verify your identity securely and help guide you through the process of regaining control of your account, while adhering to privacy and data protection laws. This means that they can offer solutions without compromising your company’s security.

You can contact Microsoft Support through Contact - Microsoft Support or call the customer service phone number - Microsoft Support.

If you call the support hotline during local business hours, the initial response will be handled by an automated system. After providing the required information, you will need to connect with a support agent. When purchasing a tenant, make sure you use the phone number listed on your account. During the phone call, you may be asked to provide information related to your subscription, such as your company name, billing details, registered phone number, and alternate email address. This will help our support team handle account and subscription-related inquiries more effectively.

Thank you for your valuable time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Bertrand | Microsoft Community Moderator
