Hello,

I was charged for next year's Microsoft 365 Personal plan for OneDrive last week, but I wish to switch to Microsoft Basic immediately and get refund of the price difference. Could you please help me with that? Thank you!

Best,

Wenhan

    Dear Wenhan Lu,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you want to switch your subscription to Microsoft 365 Basic.

According to your description, you have subscribed to Microsoft 365 Personal, but want to switch to Microsoft 365 Basic. Regarding the product switch, we need to explain to you:

According to Microsoft's requirements, you can directly switch subscriptions in the product to help you meet different needs, but the switching direction and subscription products will also result in different operation plans.

Microsoft 365 Personal has more features. You need to switch your subscription to the Microsoft 365 Basic product with fewer features. This requires you to cancel your current subscription plan and get a refund, and then re-select a new product to subscribe.

You can try to confirm the order record under your account, then help cancel the subscription and obtain the corresponding refund information:

If you are concerned about the refund status after cancellation or need further help from us, due to the limitations of Microsoft Community tools, we cannot directly query your subscription and refund information. We recommend that you try to contact chat support to confirm the refund and query the specific status through the account details.

It requires verification of your Microsoft account email address/bank card, so it's a one-on-one communication window, and the open nature of the current community makes it inappropriate to handle this type of issue publicly. Below are some steps to contact chat support:

    <--Contact Microsoft Support-->

1.Visit this website: Contact - Microsoft Support

2.Type in your problems in the search box there.

3.Now click Get help, and Select Contact Support below.

4.Go to the Products and services tab, and choose either Microsoft 365 and Office category or Other Products

5.On the Category tab, choose Manage My Subscription or other alternatives.

    6.Go to Confirm.

7.You can now choose the option of Chat with a support agent on your web browser.

Please Note: The Chat support team only works at certain times, so if the last window says you are not available, try to open it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

    Best regards
