Document problems with 365 version 16.91 with MAC OS 14.7.1

Word document opens as a box. Typing will result in text wrapping in the box. "Return" results in another box.

Boxes do not appear on printed document. Editing has to be done box by box.

Efforts to change this resulted in window changing to part of screen. This is a nightmare in that Word was relatively simple and straightforward and could be used more skillfully.

Imac on 14.7.1. I dodged a bullet in not upgrading. Office/365 is 16.91 which has caused all the trouble.

I need to return to the "normal" document display: full page, no segments/blocks and normal size on screen

I have not tried Excel in the current configuration. zi don't need the grief right now.

    Hi Jim_ Gordon,

Thanks for the correction. You are right, I did not notice that this was a Mac device. Just to be clear, this reply did not use any AI assistance. I deleted my reply as it was not relevant to the thread.
