Dear Daniel Rieger,
Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.
We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble syncing the Project Desktop Client with Project Online. I deeply understand the inconvenience this has caused and sincerely apologize for it.
Initially, the Desktop Client and Project Online are separate. You will need to connect to Project Online using the Project Online Desktop Client. To achieve this, please follow the steps below:
- Connect to Project Online from the Desktop Client:
- Open the Project Online Desktop Client.
- Go to the File menu, select Info, and then Manage Accounts.
- Add your Project Online account by entering the URL for your Project Web App home page.
- Set this account as your default if you want to use it every time you open the Desktop Client
- Save and Publish Projects:
- When you create a project in the Desktop Client, you can save and publish it to Project Online.
- This allows you to start a project on your laptop and continue working on it in the browser later
- Access and Update Projects Online:
- Once your project is published to Project Online, you can access and update it from any device with internet access by logging into project.microsoft.com
For reference and full details about the process kindly find the following article: Connect to Project Online with the Project Online Desktop Client - ProjectOnline | Microsoft Learn
We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial response may not resolve the problem immediately. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, please let me know if you have any further questions or if there are any misunderstandings.
Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator
