I understand how to adjust my own personal settings, but why default to hyphens? I'm in email marketing and this change is making everyone crazy.

    Hi Melanie G19,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I realize that you've encountered a problem with default to hyphens and I understand how you feel.

There is less information in your text. In order to better solve your problem, I need to confirm the following message.

The default hyphen function is reflected in Office products, what function do you want to implement? Are you using other Office products like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint? Notice that you mentioned that you are engaged in email marketing, are you using Outlook or other third-party mailboxes to edit messages with this problem?

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

    Best Regards,

Gina-MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
