I created a list and one of the fields is specific for product ID, which should not contain spaces before and after the actual ID. How can I restrict entries from having spaces? Thanks!

    Dear Rein Jacinto,

    Good day to you!

I hope you are doing well. Thanks for reaching out to our Microsoft Community Forum. We will be happy to help you.

It seems that you want to remove spaces before and after the actual product ID in the Product ID field. To assist you better, it would be helpful if you could provide more details about your environment and the specific issue you’re encountering. This will allow us to offer more precise guidance.

Here are a few clarifying questions:

    1. When you mention the Product ID, is it a custom field that you’ve created, or is it the default ID field in SharePoint? Knowing this will help us understand the structure of your list.
    2. Is the Product ID field configured as a number field, a single-line text field, or another type of field? The field type can affect how spaces are handled and how formatting issues can be resolved.
    3. Are you entering the Product ID manually, or is it being auto generated by the system? This distinction will help us determine if the issue lies in data entry or field configuration.
    4. Could you please share a full screenshot of your SharePoint list? This would provide us with a clearer picture of the field settings and help us identify the root cause of the issue.

If there’s anything else specific about your setup that you’d like to mention, please feel free to share. It will help us to further assistance.

We need to first clarify the information before we can determine the subsequent troubleshooting plan, so we are sorry that we cannot directly provide a solution.

I am looking forward to your response for further assistance.

Thank you for your understanding. Your cooperation and contributions are greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Nahid Sultan
