When I copy and paste from an online app into Word the images are switching. What could cause this? It doesn't happen when I copy and paste into a google doc.

    Dear Christi W1

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I understand that the image changes when you copy and paste it in Word online. I understand your feelings and this problem is indeed troubling.

    • I just want to confirm with you, what specific changes have taken place in the image? Is it the size or resolution? Or is the pasted image inaccurate?
    • And is the source of the image another Word document or another web page?
    • What browser are you using? Does the same situation occur in different browsers?
    • Is there the same problem in the Office client?

You are using Word online, which is usually unrelated to the device system and version, but we still recommend that you test the situation on different devices, such as using a mobile phone or Windows computer, to check the impact of the device and browser.

In the same Mac, we also recommend that you switch to different browsers to check the paste situation, mainly to check the impact of browser cache and extension plug-ins.

If the problem persists in different browsers, please test the source of the image. For example, copy the image from another Word document, Microsoft official support article, or third-party website, and check the effect of pasting.

After all, copying and pasting involves the clipboard in the computer, so it is also recommended that you test it in the Office application to check whether there is a conflict between the clipboard and the Office service.

You can refer to the above solution to perform basic troubleshooting, which I hope will be helpful to you. We also hope that you can share the latest progress with us so that we can be more clear about the specific situation of the problem.

Thank you for your understanding, we are looking forward to hearing from you and will continue to assist you.

    Best Regards,
