UncaughtClientError

I have tried to renew my Office subscription with a product key. I've tried it on 3 different browsers and 2 types of laptops (Mac and PC) and the message that always comes up is "Sorry, we can't set up your account right now' and then underneath "UncaughtClientError and lots of numbers.

I've attached a screenshot - but the numbers are not always the same

Please help

Hello Rob Im a user just like you and just now got it fixed after weeks of looking for this answer. do the following

    Run Office as Administrator:

    • Right-click on Word (or any Office app) and select Run as administrator.
    1. Choose to Enter a Product Key Instead of Signing In:
      • When prompted to sign in, click the option to enter a product key instead.
      • This redirects to https://setup.office.com/ in your browser.
    2. Enter Your Product Key Online:
      • Type in your key on the Microsoft Setup page.
    3. Reject Extra Subscription Offers:
      • When asked about setting up recurring billing (e.g., getting an extra month free), decline that option.
    4. Return to Office on Your Computer:
      • Click refresh in the Office app.
      • Sign in again using your Microsoft account.

✔️ Your license should now be activated!

    Dear ROB,

Hello! Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having problems redeeming your Microsoft 365 subscription to your account using a key. An "UncaughtClientError" error appears. I understand your feelings and I will do my best to help you!

Are you redeeming your key here? If not, please try here if the same problem occurs. Please contact online support directly to help you redeem your key. Certain types of issues should be handled by the corresponding team. Thank you for your understanding.

You need to contact customer service by following the steps I provide below (I have taken screenshots of the key steps to ensure that you are doing it correctly). You can choose to chat with customer service online one-on-one, or wait for a customer service expert to call back to solve your key redemption related issues:

One thing to note is that as a forum agent, I do not have the authority to directly help you verify your account, so as not to expose your private information to the forum, which is a platform for public sharing and communication. This information will be left to the chat customer service in a separate window*:*

    Contact Microsoft Support:

    1. Visit this website:  Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. Type your problems in the search box there. ( For example, Contact support.)
    3. Now click on Get Help and select Contact Support below. Image
    4. Go to the Products & Services tab and choose the Microsoft 365 and Office category
    5. On the Category tab, choose Manage My Subscription.
    6. Go to Confirm.
    7. Choose to chat with a support representative or request a call back.

Note: The contact support team only works at certain times, so if the last window says it's not there, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

Feel free to share updates with me on how things are progressing after you've completed the aforementioned steps. Should you have any questions or require clarification, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I‘d like to do my utmost to assist you.

    Best wishes
