Help - My wife just got a new PC. We tried to link her to my Microsoft 365 Subscription. It now seems to want to emulate my desktop and everything on my PC instead of being independent. What have we done incorrectly?

Hi Steven, it appears that your wife has used your Microsoft Account to install/setup her share. She needs to use her own Microsoft Account. She will need to uninstall Office and start again Someone invited you to share their Microsoft 365 Family subscription - Microsoft Support

[Steven, Please note this is a user forum where users try to help other users. We are not Microsoft employees. If I understood your post correctly? As I said in my first post, if your wife can see "It now seems to want to emulate my desktop and everything on my PC" then she has used your Microsoft Account to install her Office, instead of yours.

Stefan, was pointing out that if you only have Microsoft 365 Personal you cannot share your subscription. If that is the case, you can switch from Microsoft 365 Personal to Microsoft 365 Family.

Yeah - it's a mess. Brand new computer. Now it thinks I am the administrator - not sure what I did. Will find someone more versed in this stuff to sort it out.

You can share your subscription with your wife assuming that you have Microsoft 365 Family. See Ron's reply, including the links he posted.

The 365 Personal subscription (if that is what you have) cannot be shared; it is just for one user.
