How can I cut and paste text in a Task entry from the To Do section of Outlook New?

I have just started using Outlook New with a new laptop.

My files have been transferred successfully from Outlook Classic.

However, when I try to edit any of the existing Task entries I can not cut, copy or paste text from the entry.

I can add text, I can delete text, I can highlight text but when I right click on highlighted text as I usually do there is no drop down box appearing to allow and selection of what to do with highlighted text.

Please advise how this can be fixed.

TIA

    Hello Petter,

    Thank you for your response.

Yes I want to copy and paste text from the To Do list and Task entries.

If Outlook New does not have this feature then it is not suitable for me and I will need to use Classic.

    Regards,

    John

The copy paste function in the task list details is very important as it allows one to quickly copy excerpts of emails etc into a task list. the formatting function should be re-enabled in the new outlook.

    Thank you

    Hello. pooper77

I'm glad you replied to my message.

We have tested outlook new and it does not have this feature.

Based on your message, it looks like you have used outlook classic before.

Make sure you have a licence for outlook classic.

Open the https://account.microsoft.com/. Login to your personal account

    Click ‘Services & Subscriptions’.

Scroll down to see if you have Mircosoft 365 or Office subscription.

Click ‘manage’>> to see if you have an outlook classic subscription.

If you have outlook classic subscription information, you can try the steps below to use outlook classic.

If you don't have outlook classic on your computer.

    Install outlook , first.

You can't open classic Outlook on a new Windows PC - Microsoft Support

After downloading, try this link to switch outlook versions.

Run new Outlook and classic Outlook side-by-side - Microsoft Support

Let me know if this is contrary to what you need.

    Best regards.

    Hello. pooper77

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

I realize that you've encountered a problem of outlook.

Before I answer your question, I need to know some information to better help you with your problem.

Wouldn't you like to be able to copy and paste to do lists on outlook new like outlook classic?

Currently, outlook new can double click on the name of a task to copy the name of the task to achieve the effect of copying and pasting the task. It does not have the same effect as outlook classic.

Let me know if this is contrary to what you need.

    Best regards.
